The Infiniband CX4 SDR (Single Data Rate) consist of 8 pairs copper and each channel is tested to reach speeds of 2.5Gb/per second. For 4X SDR the total combined speed of 8 pairs reach 20 to 30 Gb/per second. As for the DDR (Double Data Rate), speeds reach up to 6.5 Gb/per second for each individual channel and 8 pairs produce speeds that reach a sum of 30 to 60 Gb/s. These cables are used to connect serial attached SCSI HBAs to external SAS disk arrays. Infiniband cables are the most economical way to connect your routers, storage devices in data-center settings.
